Want to get started in Therapeutic Riding or
Hippotherapy at CTRC?
The Rider In-Take process outlined below will get you on your way.
Complete the Participant Packet
which includes:
• Participant Application
• Participant Consent & Release
• Medical Form
Submit the Participant Packet to CTRC
This can be done in one of the following ways: Visit CTRC, via the mail or by Faxing (303-652-2072) the Packet directly to CTRC.
Schedule an Evaluation
CTRC will contact you once the Participant Packet has been received to schedule an evaluation. (*An evaluation will only be scheduled if the Participant Packet is complete.) An evaluation helps us ensure that we can safely accommodate you in our program, recommend the proper class, develop therapeutic goals and create good rider/horse teams. The evaluation is a 45 minute session broken into a two parts: discussion section and riding section. Each evaluation is conducted by either the Program Coordinator or a Therapist. Evaluation fee is $25. (Not every one who evaluates will be accepted into the program due to safety or physical / medical contraindications.)
Register to Ride
Upon completion of an evaluation and the evaluator determines CTRC is able to safely accommodate the participant the participant is able to register for upcoming sessions. A rider’s individual needs and abilities determine which program is best suited to them.
