The Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization located in Longmont, CO. For forty-four years, CTRC has pursued its mission to change the lives of people with disabilities by promoting their physical, psychological, and social well-being through equine-assisted activities. CTRC addresses a wide range of disabilities, serving participants aged 2 to 102. The facility provides a secure and nurturing environment to enhance the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of participants, while also fostering a sense of belonging, inclusion, and equality. As the oldest therapeutic riding center in Colorado and one of the nation’s largest, CTRC delivers over 3,500 hours of equine-assisted activities and involves more than 1,000 volunteer positions annually. Our reach extends to participants from nine counties along the Front Range.

Financial barriers are minimized, with a fee-for-service not exceeding one-third of the lesson cost. Fundraising covers over two-thirds of the cost of each lesson, enabling success for those facing financial challenges. Our largest annual fundraiser, the Gala, supports all operational needs.

The 2024 gala, themed “Run for the Roses” in the style of a Kentucky Derby party, is scheduled for May 4, 2024, at the Boulder JCC. We expect this year’s event to draw 150-200 attendees. CTRC depends on the success of this event and the funds it generates in order to run our programs. The success of this event relies on the generosity of our donors and sponsors.
